Feeling stuck at one place???

“Procrastination has been called a thief—the thief of time. I wish it were no worse than a thief. It is a murderer; and that which it kills is not time merely, but the immortal soul.”
                                                                               — William Nevins

I planned many things. I'll do this, I'll do that. But I could not execute anything for a long time. I feel stuck in the same place, in the same situation where I was two months back.
Why? Because of me and my excuses.
I dreamed of many things but failed to work on it. I am trying to understand, did I lose interest in my interest or am I just being a lazy human being?
Well, this is called procrastination.

I have planned on writing many articles, actually, I planned the whole month but didn't work out. I hear from many people that this thing happens with them too. But why this happens? Why after so intense planning we fail to achieve our goals?

Don't worry this is not a depressing article. I was thinking that there are many people like me who procrastinate, or try not to be lazy but can't help.

So whatever I am going to mention here is for both of us, me and you. Hope these points may give you some help.

1) Watching motivational videos over and over again does not help at all.

Take it from me I am watching these videos from many years. While watching the video you may experience some motivation. In your mind you start thinking that now I am gonna rock, no one can stop me.
But after finishing the videos or article or book within10 minutes(maybe your time is longer than me) you again come back to the same state.
I am not saying that you should not watch motivational stuff, you should but as much as it is required. But please watch some legit stuff. Do not waste your time.

2) Planning big.

This is the most common mistake that I always make. To get my motivation I do the planning, it can be for a day, for a week or for a month. And I set my expectations high for me by involving big tasks at one time.
And when I could not finish the tasks set for the day, I lose hope and motivation and start procrastinating.
So, lazy people listen, know your limits i.e., see how much you can work in a day and then increase your limits slowly.
Magic does not happen in one day. It really takes months to achieve something.
Plan your day by knowing how much really you can finish.

3) Blaming the situation or others when you could not achieve your goal.

Blaming others is super easy when you could not finish your stuff on time. And after that, your mind goes into a relaxed state.
For example, I planned that I would finish a book and an article today. And that I planned in the night. In the morning I woke up around 10 AM, then I had my team, and then my mom gave me some household chores to do. After lunch, I watched a movie and then took a good sleep(not a nap at all) till 5:30 PM. And then started watching Netflix. By the night I realized that I could not find time to finish the tasks I had set the other night and then I blamed my mom for giving me the household chores which consumed my precious time and because of that I could not work.
This how we blame others. And sometimes we blame the situations too.
That is not correct, right?
We should stop doing that and start taking the responsibilities of our faults and mistakes.

4) Overthinking about the goal.

Many times instead of working on our goal we start thinking that how it will turn out in the future or what if I will fail. Is my strategy good enough? Am I good enough? Is this the right path? And so on....
While overthinking we start doubting ourselves and forget what we were going to do.
Do not overthink just do whatever comes in your mind. We can only know the results by giving the tests, if there were no tests then there will be no results.

5) You are not forever here.

Please don't take this in the wrong way. Life is not forever and that's the truth. We all are going to die someday. If you want to do something for yourself or for someone else, start working on it. Now is the time.

6) Stop making excuses.

This is the last one, I promise. The excuses we make give us false hope. These are basically the lies that you are telling yourself, a gateway to run away from the hardships or your problems. By making the excuses you are troubling yourself. So please understand and stop giving excuses.

After writing this post I found many mistakes in my planning. Oh God! I put myself in so much pressure. Hope this post will solve your problem up to some extent.
