How to quiet your mind?

At this moment we are dealing with a huge problem. Like you and me there are many people are staying at their homes, may be working from home or just sitting idle or trying something new.
When a person is free you can assume how many thoughts can come to his/her mind.

People tend to overthink when they are idle but what if this thing happens to you everytime?
Because I was that person who used to overthink at every moment. My mind just could not stop for a minute. But I got the key to stop my mind which I am going to share with you today.

What is overthinking?
Overthinking is unnecessarily producing thoughts which have no meaning and they stress out you a lot.
These are some questions that will prove if you think a lot or not.

  • Do you spend a lot of time thinking about your problems, your future and your past?
  • Do you feel like you are wasting way too much time thinking?
  • Do you have troubles while sleeping?
  • Do you want to shut off your mind but you can't help it, it's like one thought coming after another and the chain continues?

If yes, then yes you are overthinking.


How to Stop that?
So before you stop these thoughts you must know how to recognize them.
Sit alone, somewhere in peace and understand what you are thinking and what kind of thought is it? Positive or negative?
Are you thinking about your future or past? Are you planning on something?
Do these thoughts really matter?
If you are thinking about your past what is the point of thinking all these?
Ask yourself all these questions? And see how much of junk thoughts you are  going to find out.



Here are some points that could help you out:

  • Whenever your mind is full of thoughts take some deep breaths and settle down.
  • Whenever you think something negative always create counter positive thoughts.
  • Meditation is the best way to rest your mind.
  • Always analyze your thoughts. Well, that is what mindfulness is.
